CBSE to conduct National Eligibility Test in November this year!

New Delhi: The date for the next National Eligibility Test (NET) exam has been finally released by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).

The date for the next National Eligibility Test (NET) was announced by CBSE on its official website www.cbsenet.nic.in.

According to the notification, the exam for Junior Research Fellowship and eligibility for Assistant Professor will be conducted on November 19, 2017. The detailed notification regarding the same will be available on the website on July 24.

The registration for the same will begin from August 01 and the last date to apply for the same will be August 30.

On behalf of UGC, the CBSE conducts the exam for determining the eligibility of Indian nationals for the Assistant Professor post only or Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) both in Indian universities and colleges.

The exam is conducted twice a year, usually in the months of June and December, but since the past one year, it is being conducted in July and January.

Recently, UGC has also uploaded new sets of draft regulations on its website according to which, getting admission to PhD will now be quite difficult.

The draft regulation has suggested that the institutions which come under ‘Category III Institution’ would enroll candidates who have qualified the NET or SLET or SET examinations for their PhD courses only.

The important dates for National Eligibility Test (NET) – November, 2017 are:

01. Registration will commence from August 01.

02. The last date for applying online is August 30.

03. The last date to pay the fee is August 31.

04. NET will be conducted on November 19.
