First-ever renal biopsy conducted in south Kashmir's CHC Rajpora

PULWAMA — The first-ever renal biopsy was conducted in south Kashmir on Friday at CHC Rajpora in Pulwama district.

As per the doctors, a 60-year-old female was undergoing treatment with “HTN on CCBs, started with bilateral Pedal Edema and puffiness from last two weeks.”

“Investigations showed a creatinine of 1.9 and urine showed protein 2 + and 4-5 RBCs, CBC was normal, USG abdomen showed normal-sized kidney with increased echo-pattern, ANA negative, 24-hours urinary protein showed a proteinuria of 2.3 gms, lipid profile was normal,” as per the test reports.

“Patient was planned for renal biopsy and was done on Friday at CHC Rajpora, which is the first time in a government hospital in south Kashmir,” doctors informed.

They, however, said, “Patient is stable post procedure.”

It is pertinent to mention that the renel biopsy was done by Dr Hilal Azad (MD), Dr Tanzeel (MO), Dr Farooq (MO) and paramedical staff of CHC Rajpora under the guidance of esteemed BMO, Dr Javed Ahmad.
