Braid Chopping: We are yet to get any breakthrough, says DGP

Srinagar: With incidents of braid chopping soaring after every other day, the State Police Chief, SP Vaid Sunday said there has been no breakthrough so far into the mysterious incidents.

The DGP said, “I am also looking for Jaadu Ki Chadi (Magical Stick).”

Meanwhile, five incidents of braid chopping occurred on Sunday in different parts of Kashmir.

In Kulgam, three consecutive braid chopping incidents occurred. At Dardparen Khuri Batpora village, the braid of one elderly woman was chopped.

Another incident took place at Lassarpora Manzgam in Kulgam, where a braid of young girl was chopped. Another incident took place at Noorabad Kulgam.

In Srinagar’s Batamaloo area, a braid chopping incident took place around 12 noon after in which a young girl became the victim. Later in the afternoon, a girl in Baramulla town became yet another victim.

Family members of the girl said that some unknown person or persons were hiding inside her room, and when she entered into her room, they sprayed some power which left her unconscious. “Later they chopped her braid and fled,” they said. The girl was shifted to District Hospital Baramulla for treatment. (KNS)
