KATHUA — A Lok Adalat was held today in the District Court Complex under the Chairmanship of Chairman District Legal Services Authority Kathua, Puneet Gupta (Principal District and Sessions Judge). The Lok Adalat comprised two benches.
Bench 1 was presided over by District and Session Judge, Kathua Puneet Gupta and assisted by Additional District and Sessions Judge, Kathua S.C Katal and Rajni Kant Advocate Kathua.
Bench 2 was presided over by Chief Judicial Magistrate Kathua, Deepak Sethi and Assisted by Special Mobile Magistrate, Kathua Naushad Ahmed Khan and District Mobile Magistrate, Kathua Dinesh Gupta.
Bench 1 took M.A.C.T and bank cases. 8 cases of M.A.C.T were decided on the spot and awarded money to the tune of Rs. 37, 60,000 was awarded in favour of the claimants. 12 bank cases were also decided on the spot and a bank recovery amount of Rs 7,55,000 was decided.
Bench 2 decided 70 criminal compoundable and traffic cases and a fine of Rs. 14500 was recovered on the spot. A total of 90 cases were settled in the Lok Adalat.
