RAJOURI — Some families of nomadic Bakerwals undergoing seasonal migration towards hilly areas suffered a major damage on Tuesday after more than one hundred sheep and goat got killed due to natural lightening and thunderstorms in a village of Rajouri.
Officials said that three nomadic families from Kalakote Tehsil were on their seasonal move and were spending their night under open sky at Potha village of Rajouri when natural lightning and thunderstorms struck the area at about 2 AM in the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday.
“More than one hundred goat and sheep got killed in the incident, triggering loss of lakhs for the poor families.” they said.
Police have registered a case in Kalakote police station in this connection.
