8 troopers injured in a head-on collision at Awantipora

PULWAMA — At least eight troopers were injured after a truck collided with a CRPF Casper near Goripora Crossing of Awantipora here in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

As per reports, a truck (JK02V 6165) hit a CRPF vehicle (JK02CN 2597) of 130 Battalion on Srinagar-Jammu Highway, resulting in injuries to the CRPF men.

The injured were identified as HC Naresh Kumar, HC Pankach Prashad, HC Ponam Chand, Ct. Kamlesh Kumar, Ct. Ogay Mogay Balchandra, HC Badi Patal, HC Himanchoo Haldar and Mode Surash were shifted to PHC Awantipora where doctors referred HC Naresh and HC Pankach to Srinagar hospital for specialized treatment as both the troopers suffered head injuries.

Meanwhile, police in this regard registered a case under relevant sections of law and initiated further investigations.
