SRINAGAR — Transport Department posted ARTO Poonch Basharat Mahmood as ARTO Pulwama on Tuesday. He will join shortly and will assume his duties as ARTO Pulwama.
With his appointment, RTO Kashmir who was in charge of ARTO Pulwama has been relieved from his additional duties.
Transport Department issued an order which reads, “Consequent upon the placement of the services of two Junior Scale KAS officers at the disposal of Transport Department and in the interest of administration, the following transfers and postings of ARTOS/I/C ARTOS are hereby ordered with immediate effect.”
Newly joined Syed Farhana Asgar, Jr. KAS has been posted ARTO (HQR), Srinagar. Another newly joined Mehnaz Chisti has been posted ARTO (BOI), Srinagar; ARTO Poonch, Basharat Mahmood will be the new ARTO Pulwama; Arif Parvaiz Shah will hold additional charge of ARTO (HQR), Srinagar and Jamsheed Rasool will be ARTO (BOI), Srinagar.
Pertinently, the office of the Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) was virtually defunct in the absence of any ARTO in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
