PULWAMA — Government forces launched a Cordon and Search Operation in two hamlets of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district this evening.

Sources said that combined forces including soldiers from 53 Rashtriya Rifles, Special Operation Group of local Police and 183 Battalion of paramilitary CRPF cordoned off Hanzwani Mohalla of Rahmoo and Putrigam villages of the district after receiving specific inputs about the presence of militants.

Sources added that door to door search operation was initiated and all the entry and exit points of the village were sealed.

Local sources said that huge contingents of forces have been deployed in these areas, however, no contact with militants has been established so for.
