PULWAMA — A cub was captured alive on Saturday in Payer village of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district following which it was handed over to Wildlife Department.

Locals from Payer said that some locals spotted a cub roaming in the residential area and they informed other locals about the presence of cub in the area.

Many locals assembled and started searching for the cub, so that it won’t harm any local or their property and finally it was found below a granary store, they said.

They added that a local Waseem Ahmad Bhat, son of Abdul Majeed Bhat, showed courage and captured him alive.

They further added that Wildlife officials were accordingly informed and the cub was handed over to them.
