Family seeks whereabouts after youth goes missing in Pulwama

PULWAMA — A youth has gone missing from southern Kashmir’s Pulwama town since Monday (May 3) after leaving home for Fajr prayers.

The youth, named Irfan Ahsan Bhat son of Mohammad Ahsan Bhat and resident of Washbugh Pulwama, was running a fabric (cloth) shop in the vicinity of his home. Pertinently, the youth is married.

A protest demonstration was also carried out by the missing youth’s family along with the local womenfolk on Monday, asking police to help trace their kin. Later, police assured them help and pacified the protesting women.

As per one of his relatives, Illyas Aziz, the youth has boarded a flight at 12:30 PM to New Delhi on Monday which was revealed after checking the CCTV footage with the assistance of local police. “There is no information about where he went after landing in Delhi,” he said.

He further said that they have also filed a missing report with the local police.

Meanwhile, his family has appealed for help, seeking his whereabouts. “If anybody has any information about him, he/she may please contact on the following numbers: 7006563006; 7006623948,” a message circulated by his family read.
