J-K Police recovers abducted minor girl in Pulwama

PULWAMA — Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday said that it recovered a minor girl who was abducted and also arrested the kidnappers.

In a statement, Pulwama Police said, “On 29-01-2023, Police Station Rajpora received a written application from one Bashir Ahmad Jahara S/O Fakir Mohd Jahara R/O Sonabanjer Khaigam that her daughter (name withheld) age of about 15 years has been kidnapped by three accused persons namely Sajad Ahmad Awan, Javaid Ahmad Awan (sons of Sharif Ahmad Awan) and Sharief Ahmad Awan S/O Mohd Ismail Awan, all residents of Pahlipora Keller.”

“In this regard, a case FIR No. 07/23 U/S 362, 109 IPC was registered in PS Rajpora and an investigation was set into motion.”

Police further said that a special police team was constituted to trace out the kidnapped girl. “During the course of the investigation, the police team acted swiftly and raided various suspected locations. After strenuous efforts, the police party traced the abducted girl and recovered her from the village of Hergam Keller area of Shopian.”

“The kidnappers have been arrested. After fulfilling all medico-legal formalities, the abductee girl was handed over to her legal heirs,” the statement added.

The police went on to state that the people of the area hailed the role of Pulwama Police in recovering the abductee girl.
