SRINAGAR — The presence of leap of leopards has created panic in Ompora village of central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
Locals recently spotted a leap of leopards at Housing Colony Ompora. The leopards were seen in the premises of a house. Their presence has been caught on CCTV.
Locals said that they are scared to come out from their houses after the sunset.
“We have been spotting leopards from last many months, while Wildlife department seems to be in deep slumber. We have informed Wildlife authorities many a times but they aren’t serious,” said a local.
Pertinently, leopards were seen in Lakhripora, Patwaw, Paller and Waterwani villages and till date, Wildlife officials seems to be disinterested towards the issue.
The locals appealed Wildlife Department to take the matter seriously and install cages in Ompora area of Budgam.
