LeT commander Saleem Parrey among two militants killed in Srinagar

SRINAGAR — Two militants, including a top LeT militant Saleem Parrey, have been killed in Shalimar area of Srinagar outskirts.

Police said that two militants including Saleem Parrey and a non-local militant were killed in Srinagar’s Shalimar.

Police confirmed that the deceased militant was Saleem Parrey and Hafiz from Pakistan who was involved in the killing of two policemen in north Kashmir’s Bandipora. They were killed in two separate shootouts.

Saleem Parrey was a wanted militant, who was from Hajin Bandipora. He was involved in multiple militancy related incidents.

Sources said that the foreign militant tried to escape from the spot but was chased and surrounded in Gasu area, where he was neutralized.

Locals from Shalimar area of Srinagar said that they heard a volley of shots that created panic in the area.

Meanwhile, protest erupted in Hajin area after the news about the killing of Saleem Parrey spread in the area. Protesters, especially women, raised slogans.

Police sources said the killing of Saleem Parrey is a great achievement for the police.
