Night Patrolling by Government forces in Kashmir

SRINAGAR — Two militants of the Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) outfit were killed in an overnight gunfight at Aganhanzipora area of south Kashmir’s Awantipora on Friday, officials said.

Inspector-General of Police Kashmir Vijay Kumar told GNS that both LeT militants, who were involved in killing artist and social media influencer Amreen Bhat, have been killed in the Awantipora encounter.

In a tweet, while quoting IGP Kashmir, the Kashmir Police Zone wrote, “Both killed newly joined local militants identified as Shahid Mushtaq Bhat R/O Hafroo Chadoora Budgam & Farhan Habib R/O Hakripora Pulwama. They had killed TV artist on the instruction of LeT Cmdr Lateef. 01 AK 56 rifle, 4 magazines and a pistol recovered.”

It is pertinent to mention that militants on Wednesday evening fired upon artist Amreen Bhat and her nephew outside her home.

She was immediately shifted to Srinagar hospital where doctors declared her brought dead.
