Mobile internet issue taken up with concerned officials: DC Pulwama

PULWAMA — Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, Syed Abid Rasheed Shah today said that he took up the issue of mobile internet with the concerned authorities.

“In view of upcoming exams, the issue of net speed in Pulwama has been taken up with concerned authorities at divisional level,” DC Pulwama tweeted.

He further wrote, “For those who think we are given some spl discount-not true. Ek he saff main khadey ho gae mehmood o ayaz, Na koi banda raha aur na koi banda nawaz 😊”

Mobile internet services were snapped in Srinagar and other parts of the Valley as a precautionary measure, as Srinagar and Udhampur Parliamentary constituencies went to polls in the second phase of the Lok Sabha elections on 18th April.

However, the services were barred in Pulwama on 17th April (Wednesday) after which only 2G services were restored on 18th April (Thursday) until today.

The frequent suspension of high speed mobile data services by the government has drawn criticism from all sections of society with people calling it an attempt to push the them back to stone age.

Officials from the state police say that the suspension of 3G/4G internet is ordered due to fear of “law and order problems”.

It is pertinent to mention that the telecommunication companies operating in the State say that they have signed an agreement with the State government which gives power to the authorities to regulate mobile calling and internet services.
