PULWAMA — Police in Pulwama recovered an abducted minor girl within hours by arresting an accused involved in the commission of the crime.
On Wednesday, Police Station Kakapora received a written application from a resident of Naman Kakapora, stating therein that his minor daughter has been abducted by one Nadeem Nabi Wagay of Kandajan Budgam. In this regard, case FIR No. 56/2022 under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Kakapora and an investigation was set into motion.
Upon receipt of this information, a special Police team was constituted to trace the abducted girl. During the course of the investigation, the police team acting swiftly raided various suspected locations. After strenuous efforts, the police traced the abducted girl and recovered her from the village Watkaloo, Charar-i-Sharief Budgam.
The accused person involved in the commission of the crime has also been arrested while the girl was handed over to her legal heirs after fulfilling all medico-legal formalities.
“Swift action by police against anti-social elements has been appreciated by the locals. Community members are requested to cooperate with the police in curbing social crimes in their neighbourhoods. They can share information pertaining to social crimes with the police. We reassure the community members that our efforts in curbing social crimes shall continue,” police said.
