PULWAMA — An unfortunate incident unfolded in the bustling market of Pulwama in south Kashmir, as a slab from an under-construction shopping complex collapsed, burying and destroying a parked vehicle underneath. The distressing event transpired near Super Bazar, causing chaos and alarm in the area.
According to eyewitnesses, who spoke to The Kashmir Pulse, the collapse of the under-construction structure occurred suddenly late on Saturday afternoon. The slab’s collapse resulted in the complete damage of a parked vehicle bearing the registration number JK13D-6148. Responding swiftly, personnel from the Police, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and the Municipality rushed to the site to assess the dire situation.
An official closely involved in the response efforts stated that efforts are underway to ascertain whether the debris holds only the vehicle or if any individuals are trapped underneath. “We are currently engaged in the meticulous process of removing the slab,” the official added.
The building, part of an ongoing construction project, belongs to Parvez Ahmed Dar son of Ghulam Hassan Dar, a resident of Kangan Pulwama.
Parvez expressed shock and bewilderment at the unexpected incident. “I am at a loss for words. Thankfully, there was no loss of human life,” he remarked, grappling with the magnitude of the situation.
