PULWAMA — Several BSNL FTTH subscribers in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Wednesday complained that the service is literally useless as the provider fails to ensure consistent data speeds.
The complaints come in the backdrop of a downtime in the Internet services, which has rendered the services useless from the last couple of days.
One of the subscribers, Shabir Ahmad alleged that department has failed to provide uninterrupted and high-speed Internet services despite paying high tariff bills per month.
“I am paying almost Rs. 1000 per month but the service provider has taken us for granted. The services are poor, most of the times. Even, we have a terrible downtime as well,” he alleged.
Another subscriber, Shah Khalid, said that due to reduced Internet speed and downtime from several days, his work from home has been badly affected.
The subscribers appealed the concerned officials to resolve the problem, as soon as possible so that they can continue with their work, uninterrupted.
Meanwhile, repeated calls to the Incharge at BSNL Exchange Pulwama remained unanswered.
However, a lower-rung employee said, on the condition of anonymity, that the service was down due to a scheduled maintenance. “The services will be working again very soon,” he said.
