Srinagar: Government of Jammu & Kashmir has issued a notification regarding J&K Government Grievance Cell Internship 2017.

The notification (dated: 12-07-2017) has been issued by the office of Chief Minister’s Grievance Cell, Srinagar.

Under J&K Government Grievance Cell Internship 2017, the Jammu & Kashmir Government Grievance Cell aims to rope in candidates from disciplines of Rural Development, IT, Management, Public Policy, Public Administration, Statistics, Economics, Law, Forest & Environment, Engineering, Social Sciences and other related fields ‘for specific research in grievance redressal mechanisms and studying the best practices, achievements, shortfalls and gaps in service delivery mechanisms to come out with recommendations in improving governance’

‘The Internship Program is designed to provide an intense experience to students interest in understanding the governance and administration.’

The J&K Government Grievance Cell Internship 2017 seeks to engage students pursuing Under-Graduate / Graduate / Post ­Graduate Degrees or Research Scholars enrolled in recognized Universities / Institutions within India or abroad, as ‘Interns’.

‘These interns would be expected to supplement the process of analysis with the Grievance Cell, understand the issues as a whole and suggest innovative practical solutions to real time problems based on detailed analysis of the problem.’

‘The interns are also expected to take up innovative projects for improving the governance of administration so as to redress various grievances affecting the people at large.’

“We are looking for people who are responsible, enthusiastic, and professional. We aim to inspire, motive and educate students so that they get an enriched experience about the functioning of the government and pursue their future goals with an open mind,” reads the notification.

The selected candidates from different disciplines as prescribed shall join the Internship Program for a period of three months. Once their stipulated tenure is over, they shall be awarded an Internship Certificate from the office depending on the satisfactory performance during the internship with grading.

In case the intern wishes to leave before three months based on certain conditions, a Certificate of Internship shall be given only after assessing the performance during the tenure of Internship.

The interns shall be working on specific projects during the internship and the internship shall be extended in case the projects do not reach their completion. The decision for extending internship shall be solely the jurisdiction of the office.

No remuneration of any sort shall be provided during the internship. Although, all kind of necessary support shall be provided to the interns for executing their assigned work.

The interest candidates can either mail their CV or Resume at cmo.grievance@jk.gov.in or send a hard copy of the CV or Resume to the office along with an ‘Expression of Interest’ specifying their area of interest, within 10 days from the day of release of notification.

The grievance cell shall screen the applications and call only those candidates who shall be deemed to be suitable for the role as an intern based on the ongoing projects.
