Can I go forward when my heart is here?
No, no whispered his sinking heart,
As his nerves shrunk, muscles strained, brows tightened,
And lips trembled to say, sit a few moons here,
Beside starry moon, rhythmic brook, dancing daffodils,
Come to aid to sooth his impatient soul,
Alas! Yet unable to articulate his inner wish.
Suddenly then, I heard a strange call,
Neither from heaven nor from earth,
But from within told me in blunt and sharp,
Hark! Ye beautiful dame,
Hold thy strings of heart and go forward,
As time is apt to let head and heart in unison!
