SRINAGAR — In a significant development, the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has issued an addendum to its Advertisement Notice No. 1 of 2015, altering the previously advertised vacancies for Naib Tehsildar posts in the State Cadre. This update comes following a series of notifications and revisions by various departments, ultimately resulting in a revised distribution of vacancies for this crucial administrative role.

The original advertisement, released on April 7, 2015, by the J&K Services Selection Board, had announced a total of 134 vacancies for the position of Naib Tehsildar under item No. 07. Subsequent to this, a corrigendum was issued on May 21, 2015, indicating a detailed breakdown of the advertised posts: 76 for OM (Open Merit), 27 for RBA (Rural Background Area), 11 for SC (Scheduled Caste), 13 for ST (Scheduled Tribe), 3 for OSC (Other Social Caste), and 0 for ALC (Actual Line of Control).

However, the dynamics of the vacancies underwent further changes with the involvement of the Revenue Department, which forwarded an additional 21 posts of Naib Tehsildar (State Cadre) to the Board. This referral, communicated through letter No. Rev/NG/131/2013 dated May 28, 2015, included 12 vacancies for OM, 4 for RBA, 2 for SC, 2 for ST, and 1 for ALC candidates.

As a result of these cumulative modifications, the total count of Naib Tehsildar positions (State Cadre) has been revised upward, leading to the following adjusted distribution of vacancies:

  • OM (Open Merit): 88
  • RBA (Rural Background Area): 31
  • SC (Scheduled Caste): 13
  • ST (Scheduled Tribe): 15
  • OSC (Other Social Caste): 3
  • ALC (Actual Line of Control): 5
