PULWAMA — Kunui Aalaw, an art and awareness programme was held in Government Degree College (Boys) Pulwama on Wednesday.
KASHMAKASH, an NGO based in the district organised the event in association with GDC Pulwama.
The speakers during the event included Professor Mushtaq Ali (Principal GDC Pulwama), Perveiz Ali, Asim Assadi, Badee Uz Zaman, Ummer Wani, Shakeel Ali, Advocate Zahid Hussain, Shahi Shahbaz among others.
A music band also enthralled the audience with some scintillating songs at regular intervals during the programme.
Speaking during the programme, Professor Mushtaq Ali lauded the efforts of the youth and said that the initiative needs to be supported. He, however, said that the members of the KASMAKASH need not sacrifice their academics in order to work for the people.
Jan Muhammad (Assistant Professor – English) congratulated the NGO members for creating the platform and providing opportunities to budding talent of the district.
“This platform was needed in order to provide a direct connection between aspiring and established writers,” observed Badee Uz Zamaan.
Pervez Ali said, “Art is a universal language which has no hurdles when it comes to getting the message across.”
The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks followed by award distribution ceremony.
One of the organizers, Bhat Musaddiq Reyaz, while commenting on the event said, “This is a platform through which we seek to help the needy and bring about a noticeable change in our society.”
“Our main focus for organizing this event was to provide a platform for budding talent from Pulwama to showcase their work and provide them at least ‘some sort of’ recognition,” Shahi Shahbaz, another member said.
