New Delhi, July 15: A Delhi-based journalist who hit headlines by meeting Jamat-ud-Dawa chief Hafiz Saeed in Lahore has kicked another row by reportedly saying that there is no harm if Kashmir is made independent.
Ved Prakash Vaidik, an associate of yoga guru Baba Ramdev, reportedly told a Pakistan-based news channel that both India and Pakistan should stop fighting over Kashmir and make it an independent nation, Zee News reported.
Earlier, he had defended his meeting with Saeed, alleged mastermind of 2008 Mumbai attacks, by saying that “It was alright for him to meet him”. He said: “For me, it was like a normal meeting. I have been meeting the Maoists of Nepal, Taliban of Afghanistan.”
Congress has cornered the BJP government by saying that they must have been aware of the meeting, as Vaidik was close to Sangh Parivar.
They rejected the government’s contention that they had nothing to do with the meeting.
