ANANTNAG — The undergraduate (UG) students of 5th Semester in various degree colleges of Kashmir on Monday staged a protest against Kashmir University (KU) authorities over the alleged irregularities in evaluation results declared last Saturday.

The students alleged that Kashmir University authorities are trying to ruin their careers by declaring around 60 per cent of students fail in several subjects. They alleged that “the results declared by the authorities are not up to the mark. It seems the marks have not been uploaded properly.”

Waris Ahmad, a student of Boys College Anantnag, said that the authorities must re-check their papers and update results properly. The other students also echoed similar views and demanded immediate intervention from the authorities, adding that most of the students had been declared unsuccessful despite performing well in examinations held in November-December 2019.

Protesting students alleged that despite appearing in the examination, several students have been marked absent in one or two subjects while a few students among those who didn’t appear in the examination have been marked present besides pass.

They said that results all over the Valley are shocking as according to them, none of the students are satisfied with their evaluation status. They demanded authorities take cognizance of the issue so that the future of hundreds of students could be saved.

Despite repeated attempts, the Controller Examination of Kashmir University couldn’t be contacted for the comments.
