Body of 22-year-old identified, found under suspicious circumstances in Pulwama

PULWAMA — Authorities in Pulwama have identified the deceased found under mysterious circumstances in Palpora village of Pulwama as Junaid Ahmed Mir, approximately 22 years old, son of Nazir Ahmed Mir from Palpora Nownagri.

According to PD Nitya, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Pulwama, the recovery of the body has prompted an investigation into the suspicious circumstances surrounding the incident.

“Cognizance has been taken, and inquest proceedings under section 174 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) have been initiated,” stated SSP Nitya.

It is pertinent to mention here that an earlier report from a local news agency said that the dead body was found in Wasoora village but the police statement said the body was found in Palpora village.

Meanwhile, the circumstances leading to the demise of Junaid Ahmed Mir remain under investigation and further details regarding the investigation are expected to emerge as authorities continue their inquiries into this incident.
