Sarpanch’s brother shot at by unknown gunmen in Tral

Pulwama: A man was injured critically after unknown gunmen opened fire at him in Tral area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

An official said that some unknown gunmen opened fire upon a man Simranjeet Singh son of Nanak Singh, a resident of Khasipora at Tral.

In the incident, Simranjeet received bullet wounds and was immediately shifted to Tral hospital where from he was referred to Srinagar for treatment.

He is a brother of Sarpanch Khasipora, Rajindar Singh. Rajindar was earlier with Congress but later contested as an independent candidate.

Soon after the attack, Army, Police and CRPF have launched searches to nab the assailants, the official said.
