Seven arrested during a nocturnal raid in Shopian

SHOPIAN — At least seven youth have been arrested during a nocturnal raid in Arhama area of south Kashmir’s Shopian district.

Locals said that during the night, government forces raided many residential houses in the area and took away at least seven youth with them.

Locals identified the arrested youth as Ishaq Ittoo son of Ahsan Ittoo, Mehrajuddin Mir son of Qadir Mir, Arshid Lone son of Jabbar Lone, Shabir Kulley son of Rashid Kulley, Gh. Nabi Mir son of Qadir Mir, Irfan Ittoo son of Ab. Rashid and Fayaz Ahmad Mir son of Ahsan Mir.

A police official while confirming the arrest of seven persons said that they have been arrested for questioning.
