Woman ends life in Uri after her husband’s death

URI — In a shocking incident in Uri, a 50-year old woman ended her life on Saturday morning after her husband’s body reached home. The deceased woman was a resident of Saidpora, Uri.

Official sources said that 50-year old Aulad Ali Shah son of Mang Shah was admitted to GMC Baramulla and died this morning due to heart attack.

Later, when his dead body reached home and people were preparing for his last rites, her wife consumed some poisonous substance and she was shifted to SDH Uri where doctors declared her dead.

Aulad Ali was an employee of J&K Grameen Bank and was posted at Pringal Boniyar Branch.

“As per the primary investigation, it comes to fore that the woman couldn’t bear the loss of her husband and consumed some poisonous substance,” SHO Uri, Mohammad Ashraf, said.

“We are investigating the matter,” he said, adding “The body will be handed over to family after completing the legal formalities.”
