SRINAGAR — Indian cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar has lauded the perseverance and inspiring journey of Jammu and Kashmir’s Para cricket team captain, Amir Hussain Lone, during his recent visit to the Valley.

Tendulkar, fulfilling a promise made during his visit, met with Lone to convey his admiration in person, as reported by a local news agency. The cricket legend commended Lone’s dedication, highlighting his remarkable story as a source of inspiration for all.

Now 34 years old, Hussain Lone leads Jammu & Kashmir’s Para cricket team. Despite facing adversity since a life-altering accident at the age of eight years, which resulted in the loss of both his arms, Lone developed a unique playing style and emerged as an inspiration for others. He has been playing professional cricket since 2013 when a teacher recognized his talent and introduced him to Para Cricket.

Last month, Tendulkar expressed his admiration for Lone’s skills in a video and expressed his desire to meet him and acquire a jersey with Lone’s name. Tendulkar’s admiration for Lone’s journey resonated with cricket enthusiasts worldwide, who draw inspiration from Lone’s remarkable achievements.
