Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League Chairman, Mukhtar Waza Sunday said that Kashmir was a political issue and should be addressed politically.
He appealed leaders of India and Pakistan to come forward and resolve Kashmir issue on humanitarian grounds.
“Unfortunately, the people of Jammu and Kashmir were still kept deprived of right to self-determination and the promises made to them at international level were not fulfilled. India can not suppress the Kashmiris’ liberation struggle through use of brute force,” Waza said in a statement said.
Meanwhile, Waza has expressed grief and sorrow over the sad demise of the mother of prominent PL activists Aashiq Hussain Khan and Khurshed Hussain Khan. The PL Chairman, along with other party leaders visited house of the deceased at Chanpora Srinagar and condoled with the bereaved family.
