Vande Bharat catering staff member dies after hit by parcel train in Srinagar

SRINAGAR — A non-local railway catering staff member was found dead after being hit by a parcel train near Suthsoo Kalan in Srinagar on Thursday, officials said.

The deceased was identified as Jaan Mohammad, son of Noor Mohammad, a resident of Sakri village in Chasana area of Reasi district.

According to information received, the incident occurred near a railway track kilometre point and electric pole number 61/05, falling under the jurisdiction of Railway Police Station (RPS), Srinagar.

The deceased was reportedly working as a catering staff member on the Vande Bharat train. He was found dead at the spot after being hit by the parcel train.
