SRINAGAR — Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Friday called for a transparent and time-bound investigation into the killing of Mohammad Parvez in Niki Tawi, Jammu.

Abdullah said the incident was deeply regrettable and added that the use of force by the police must be calibrated and not indiscriminate.

“J&K has paid a heavy price in the past because of incidents such as these,” he said in a statement.

He urged authorities to ensure a transparent probe and extended condolences to the family of the deceased. “May Allah grant him Jannat,” Abdullah said.
