
SRINAGAR — Former Member of Legislative Council (MLC) Yasir Reshi, who recently resigned from Peoples Conference (PC), on Monday joined Awami Ittehad Party (AIP) in Srinagar and is all set to contest the upcoming assembly polls from Sonawari constituency in Bandipora.
As per the news agency KNO, two others who joined AIP include Naseer Ahmad Rather and Advocate Raja Ashraf Ali Khan.
The party also announced a list of candidates who will contest the upcoming assembly election from Kashmir in the second phase.
The party general secretary, in an official statement, said that in view of the upcoming assembly elections, the political affairs committee headed by Ishtiyaq Qadri has recommended the mandates of 10 candidates to the party Supremo, Er. Rashid.
The candidates include Ishtiyaq Qadri for Habakadal, Mohammad Maqbool Beigh for Harzatbal, Sheikh Aashiq for Ganderbal, Advocate Javed Hubi for Charar-e-Shareef, Advocate Raja Ashraf for Kangan, Shoib Lone for Baramulla, Prince Parvez for Bandipora, Yasir Reshi for Sonawari, Naseer Ahmad Rather for Wagoora Kreeri and Advocate Dawood Ahmad for Lolab assembly segment.
