LG Manoj Sinha prorogues J&K Legislative Assembly

Assembly Secretariat issues bulletin formally bringing the current session of the House to a close

SRINAGAR — Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has prorogued the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, formally bringing the current session of the House to a close.

According to a bulletin issued by the J&K Legislative Assembly Secretariat on Monday, Sinha exercised the powers vested in him under clause (a) of sub-section (2) of Section 18 of the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Act, 2019.

“I, Manoj Sinha, Lieutenant Governor of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, in exercise of the powers conferred upon me under clause (a) of the Sub-section (2) of Section 18 of the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Act, 2019, do hereby prorogue the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly,” the order stated.

The prorogation formally concludes the current session of the House.
