POONCH — A 17-year-old girl from Pakistan-held Kashmir was repatriated to Pakistan through the Chakan Da Bagh crossing in Poonch on Tuesday after completing the required legal formalities, officials said.
The girl was identified as Samiya Azeem, daughter of Mohammad Azeem and a resident of Bains Gala, Seri, in Khuiretta tehsil of Kotli district, according to the news agency KNT.
Azeem had crossed the Line of Control in the Nowshera sector earlier this month and was apprehended by personnel of 6/1 Gorkha Rifles on October 2 after entering the Indian side.
Following completion of the necessary formalities, police and Army personnel escorted her from Police Post Lam to Chakan Da Bagh.
She was subsequently repatriated to Pakistan through the designated crossing point in coordination with the concerned authorities.
