Lal Singh visits Udhampur, urges people to maintain calm

UDHAMPUR — Minister for Health and Medical Education, ARI and Trainings, Chaudhary Lal Singh on Monday visited Udhampur district of Jammu division to take stock of the situation.

The minister had a meeting with senior police and civil administration officials and other prominent civil society members of the area. The minister, who is camping in Udhampur, urged the people of the area to uphold communal harmony and brotherhood in the area.

“Our State is known for giving a direction to many. We have been living like brothers and we shouldn’t allow communal forces to divide us,” Singh told people. “We shouldn’t let people divide our State on petty issues,” he said.

Three persons, including a policeman, received burn injuries when a Kashmir-bound truck was attacked with a petrol bomb in Udhampur district of Jammu division last night following which six persons have been arrested.

He appealed to people in the districts of Jammu region including Udhampur, Kathua and Reasi to maintain calm and work for the betterment of society.
