
SRINAGAR — Authorities in Kashmir are not taking chances as for as Coronavirus infection is concerned. Every suspect having travel history is being monitored and isolated.
An official said that from the past three days, a woman is under observation at NTPHC Panzgam area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district. The woman had returned from Punjab recently.
The official identified the woman (name withheld) as wife of Saifullah, a resident of Kachhama, Thrigam. “She is running with fever and heavy flu. She is under observation in an isolation ward,” the official said.
Meanwhile, a youth from Ganderbal after showing symptoms of fever and throat infection has been admitted in the isolation ward at SKIMS Srinagar.
Official sources said that a youth from Kurhama Ganderbal who had arrived in Kashmir on March 15 from Maharashtra developed symptoms of fever and throat infection.
The family approached District Hospital Ganderbal today where he was examined and referred to SKIMS Soura for further evaluation, said sources.
The youth has been identified as Ajaz Ahmad Hajam son of Ghulam Muhammad Hajam. He is 26 and has a travel history.
Pertinently, all the tests about Coronavirus in Kashmir have turned out negative while six cases of Coronavirus have been found in Ladakh and two from Jammu.
