
SRINAGAR — Police have arrested a youth in connection with the killing of two BSF personnel here in Kashmir capital Srinagar.
Pertinently, on 20th May this month militants gunned down two Border Security Forces personnel, Rana Mandal and Ziaulhaq from 37 Battalion at Pandach in Srinagar outskirts and snatched their weapons.
Police sources said that after probing the incident, Police Station Soura apprehended a youth and registered a formal FIR against him in connection with the attack.
The apprehended youth has been identified as Waseem Ahmed Ganaie alias Mass who is a resident of Dargah road Pandach.
Sources said that Waseem had been arrested several times before on charges of stone-pelting. “He is being questioned while an FIR vide number 48/2020 under Section 307, 2/27 IA Act has been registered against him,” a police official, on the condition of anonymity, said.
