
PULWAMA — People of Abhama village in Kashmir valley’s Pulwama district have been facing difficulties due to lack of staff in a local branch of J&K Bank.
The people of Abhama, citing the shortage of staff in the bank, said that they have to visit the bank many times to perform even minor tasks.
A customer, who came to apply for an ATM card, said that he had visited the bank several times in this regard but he did not receive the same. He added that he had to come to the bank several times and had to wait for weeks to get a Kisan Credit Limit (KCC) loan.
Noori Begum, another customer, said that she had applied for a loan in the month of June. According to her, she approached the bank several times in this regard and only then her loan was sanctioned.
In this regard, when a senior official of the bank was contacted, he confirmed the shortage of staff in the bank and said, “The people are suffering due to the shortage of staff.”
He claimed that he had informed the higher authorities in this regard and an employee was sent to the bank which is not enough considering the rush of customers here.
Another official of the Bank, however, assured that he would once again communicate to the higher authorities in view of the shortage of staff so that the bank staff and customers would not face any further difficulties.
