34 travelers among 626 new COVID-19 cases in J&K

SRINAGAR — Jammu and Kashmir reported 626 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours and 197 among them were from Jammu Division and 429 from Kashmir valley, officials said on Friday.

The cases include 34 travelers and take the overall tally of the cases in J&K to 101594, the officials said.

Giving the district-wise details, they said that Srinagar reported 157 cases, Baramulla 158, Budgam 20, Pulwama 10, Kupwara 23, Anantnag 13, Bandipora 12, Ganderbal 27, Kulgam 4, Shopian 4, Jammu 95, Rajouri 10, Udhampur 18, Doda 10, Kathua 11, Poonch 7, Samba 7, Kishtwar 20, Ramban 12 and Reasi 7.

Moreover, they said, 551 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals—187 from Jammu Division and 364 from Kashmir Valley.

COVID-19 claims seven more lives, J&K toll 1567

Jammu and Kashmir reported seven more COVID-19 related deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the fatality count due to the pestilence to 1567, officials said on Friday.

Among those who died include four from Jammu division and three from Kashmir Valley, the officials said.

Regarding the deaths from the Valley, they said, two were from Srinagar and one from Shopian district. One among the victims from Srinagar was a 70-year-old man from Eidgah Srinagar who died at SKIMS Soura, they said.

Three of those who succumbed to the virus in Jammu division included one resident each from Jammu, Udhampur and Doda districts respectively.

With these deaths, the fatality count in J&K has reached 1567.

Srinagar district with 389 deaths tops the list followed by Jammu (276), Baramulla (155), Budgam (95), Pulwama (84), Kupwara (77), Anantnag (75), Rajouri (48), Kulgam (48), Bandipora (48), Doda (50), Shopian (36), Ganderbal (36), Udhampur (35), Kathua (33), Samba (25), Poonch (23), Ramban (18), Kishtwar (16), and Reasi (8).
