Trooper shoots self to death inside CRPF camp

BARAMULLA — A trooper on Wednesday shot himself dead by using his service rifle in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

The trooper was identified as R.K Mohanty, a head constable posted at Wadoora Headquarters of Central Reserve Police Force that falls under the jurisdiction of Police Station Bomai Sopore, official sources said.

A police official confirmed the incident, saying a case has been registered and investigation set into motion. He said the deceased trooper was affiliated with 92 Battalion.
