Jammu: A policeman committed suicide last night by shooting himself with his service rifle on Jammu-Pathankote rail track in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Kalam Din of 4th battalion of Indian Reserve Police (IRP) fired at himself from his service rifle on duty at Basantar Bridge on Jammu-Pathankote railway track tonight, a police officer said.
He died on his way to the hospital, he said adding the policemen belonged to Kargil district of Ladakh region. The reason behind the suicide could not be ascertained immediately, he said.
