SRINAGAR — Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday said that he would give the facts about the Lawaypora ‘gunfight’ in due course.
LG Sinha said, “I want to tell you that Centrally-administered Jammu and Kashmir is a sensitive area. I know the views of the forces and the families of the victims about the Lawaypora encounter.” He added that he will bring the facts at the appropriate time.
LG Sinha was speaking after being asked by reporters about the Lawaypora ‘encounter’ and the killings that took place in it.
It may be recalled that on December 30, according to the J&K Police, three militants were killed in an encounter at Lawaypora with the forces belonging to the southern districts of Pulwama and Shopian.
The victims’ families, however, alleged that their children were not militants but civilians and that they were killed in a staged encounter.
