3 travelers among 79 fresh COVID-19 cases in J&K

SRINAGAR — Three travelers were among 79 fresh novel coronavirus cases reported in Jammu and Kashmir in the last 24 hours, officials said on Thursday.

Among the fresh cases, they said, 30 are from Jammu Division and 49 from Kashmir Valley, taking the total tally to 122964.

Giving district-wise details, the officials said, Srinagar reported 26 cases, Baramulla 3, Budgam 4, Pulwama 4, Kupwara 1, Anantnag 3, Bandipora 1, Ganderbal 5, Kulgam 2, Shopian 0, Jammu 23, Udhampur 4, Rajouri 0, Doda 1, Kathua 1, Samba 0, Kishtwar 0, Poonch 0, Ramban 1 and Reasi 0.

Moreover, they said, 237 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals—125 from Jammu Division and 112 from Kashmir valley. The number of active cases has reduced to 1468 in J&K.

Three more die due to COVID-19 in J&K, toll 1915

Three more persons, one of them a 55-year-old man, succumbed to COVID-19 in Jammu and Kashmir in the last 24 hours, officials said on Thursday.

Official sources said that the 55-year-old man was from Rainawari Srinagar while two others include a 75-year-old man from Samburbugh Chattergam and a 78-year-old man from Hajoora Chadoora Budgam.

So far, 1915 people have succumbed to virus in J&K—1203 in the Valley and 712 in Jammu region.

Srinagar district with 453 deaths tops the list followed by Jammu (365), Baramulla (172), Budgam (113), Kupwara (94), Pulwama (88), Anantnag (84), Doda (64), Bandipora (61), Udhampur (57), Kulgam (53), Rajouri (55), Kathua (50), Ganderbal (46), Shopian (39), Samba (39), Poonch (24), Ramban (21), Kishtwar (22), and Reasi (15).
