Kuldeep Krishan Sidha takes charge in Pulwama

Kuldeep Krishan Sidha, a senior officer of the Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service (JKAS), has been appointed Deputy Commissioner of Pulwama, taking charge of the district administration as part of a major bureaucratic reshuffle ordered by the Jammu and Kashmir administration.

Sidha brings more than 22 years of experience in public administration to his new posting. Over the course of his career, he has held several key administrative positions within the Jammu and Kashmir Government, including Additional Deputy Commissioner of Srinagar and Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner — roles that placed him at the center of some of the administration’s most demanding responsibilities, including disaster response and IT-driven governance initiatives.

He went on to serve as Special Secretary in the Finance Department of the J&K Government, before being appointed Director of the Department of Archives, Archaeology and Museums, where he oversaw efforts to preserve the region’s cultural heritage.

Sidha now takes charge as Deputy Commissioner of Pulwama, stepping into a role responsible for overseeing the district’s administration, development programs, and public services. The posting comes amid a broader reshuffle of senior officers across Jammu and Kashmir’s administrative services.

Sidha’s service record has drawn formal recognition at both the regional and national levels. On India’s 80th Independence Day in 2026, the Government of Jammu and Kashmir selected him for the Chief Minister’s Award for Honesty, Integrity & Meritorious Public Service — one of the administration’s highest civilian honours for government officers.

He has also received appreciation from the Government of India for his contributions to social welfare initiatives during his career in public service.

As Deputy Commissioner of Pulwama, Sidha now oversees a district administration that will test the breadth of his administrative experience — from governance and welfare delivery to development planning. His track record across finance, heritage preservation, relief and rehabilitation, and district administration suggests a generalist profile within the JKAS, one the Pulwama administration will now draw on directly.
