Police seize illicit properties worth Rs. 60 lacs from Baramulla drug peddlers

BARAMULLA — Jammu and Kashmir Police executed a significant operation resulting in the attachment of properties belonging to notorious drug peddlers in Baramulla district, valued at approximately Rs. 60 lacs.

According to an official communication, as per a local news agency, the properties, linked to Mohammad Ayoob Shah and Ghulam Mohammad Shah, alias Gulshah, were seized. Both individuals, sons of Abdul Khaliq and residents of Ladoora Rafiabad, District Baramulla, are alleged to be involved in drug trafficking activities.

This action, conducted under sections 68-E read with 68-F (1) of the NDPS Act of 1985, stems from the ongoing investigation related to case FIR No. 18/2024 under section 8/21 NDPS Act at Police Station Baramulla.

Upon scrutiny, the police identified these properties as unlawfully acquired and suspected to have been procured through the illegal trafficking of narcotics and psychotropic substances by the accused drug peddlers.
