J-K Police chief vows to eliminate militancy in Jammu within three months

SRINAGAR — The Director General of Police (DGP) of Jammu and Kashmir, RR Swain, has stated that militancy in Jammu will be eradicated within the next three months.

He also announced that individuals harbouring foreign militants will face prosecution under the Enemy Agents Act, a stricter law compared to the UAPA.

He stated, while speaking to reporters at Jammu, that the militants active in Jammu and Kashmir were to be eliminated sooner or later, and that those who were involved in providing shelter or support to these mercenaries would face exemplary punishment.

The Director General of Police stated firmly, “One thing is clear: we will crush terrorism at any cost and ensure no one disrupts peace and tranquillity in Jammu and Kashmir.” He added, “Supporters of terrorists will face the same consequences as terrorists themselves.”

Swain has raised concerns over the internet’s role in sustaining terrorism and separatism in Jammu and Kashmir. According to him, 75% of the region’s security challenges are now associated with the virtual world, as Pakistani handlers exploit online platforms for infiltration and weapon smuggling.
