Dr Sanjeev Sinha appointed Director of AIIMS Jammu

JAMMU — The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Dr Sanjeev Sinha as the Executive Director of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Jammu, which is situated in the Vijaypur area of Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir.

According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Friday, Dr Sinha, who is currently Professor and Head of the Department of Medicine at AIIMS New Delhi, has been appointed on deputation.

The appointment has been made in Level 15 of the Pay Matrix for a tenure of three years from the date of assuming charge of the post, or until he attains the age of 70 years, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

The appointment was cleared following a proposal submitted by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

Dr Sinha’s appointment is expected to strengthen the leadership at AIIMS Jammu, one of the premier healthcare institutions established under the Centre’s Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY) to improve access to tertiary healthcare and medical education.

Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the appointment of Dr Sanjeev Sinha as the new Director of AIIMS Jammu.

In a post on X, Dr Singh wrote, “Thanks PM Sh Narendra Modi for having approved the appointment of a seasoned Physician, HoD Medicine AIIMS Delhi and one of our valued colleagues Dr Sanjeev Sinha as Director AIIMS Jammu.”
