Dr Farooq Peer appointed JKBOSE Secretary

Srinagar: Government on Friday appointed Dr Farooq Ahmad Peer, the incumbent Director Academics, J&K Board of School Education (BOSE) as In-Charge Secretary J&K BOSE.

An order issued from the office of Secretary School Education reads, “In exercise of the powers conferred by Section (14) of the J&K BOSE Act, 1975 (Act No. XXVIII of 1975) and in supersession of Notification SRO-234 of 2018; Dated: 24-05-2018, the Government hereby assigns the additional charge of the post of Secretary JKBOSE to Dr Farooq Ahmad Peer, on temporary basis in addition to his own duties with immediate effect till such time the government appoints a new secretary.”

Meanwhile, education fraternity hailed the appointment of Dr Farooq Peer as Secretary J&K BOSE and exuded confidence that JKBOSE will touch new heights under his guidance. Dr Farooq Peer has held several important positions in the government.

He was member J&K Services Selection Board for several years and is remembered for maintaining transparency in the selection of candidates for various posts during his tenure in JKSSB.

It is in place to mention here that Dr Farooq Peer is the father of Fazl ul Haseeb who recently qualified IAS and secured 36th rank. (KNS)
