LeT militant arrested in Shopian

SRINAGAR — Police claimed to have arrested an LeT militant at Khojpura area of Zainapora in south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Friday.

A senior Police officer said that a joint team of Police and Army’s 1RR launched a cordon-and-search-operation in Khojpora in wee hours, during which a militant identified as Zakir Ahmad Khan, resident of Khojpora, was arrested.

The arrested militant had recently joined LeT outfit and from his possession, one 9MM pistol and other war-like stores was recovered, the officer added.
